Welcome to The Roche School Nursery Wandsworth
The Roche School Nursery Wandsworth is part of The Roche School offering children a high-quality education in an environment where every individual is valued for who they are and for their contributions to our strong school community. Children join our Nursery aged two or three.
Our Nursery setting provides a safe and vibrant environment where all children can thrive and develop at an appropriate pace whilst exploring our 3 bright and highly resourced classrooms and spacious outdoor area.
Our ambitious curriculum follows an integrated approach of Montessori and the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and successfully nurtures children’s confidence in exploring the world around them and in their creativity.
We follow The Roche Approach: Respect, Open-mindedness, Compassion, Humour and Effort which fosters strong values and we recognise that every child is unique thus their individual learning pathway will be tailored to suit their own interests and lines of inquiry, ensuring a love of learning is fostered.
We aim to create a strong learning environment that will not only enhance children’s aspirations to perform to the best of their ability but will also develop the children’s personal, social and emotional skills.

Early Years Curriculum
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum. The nursery class follows an integrated approach of Montessori and the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. In Reception the children work towards the Early Learning Goals within the seven areas of learning. Our children work towards and often beyond the government’s Early Learning Goals through a combination of free-flow, play-based learning and engaging discrete teaching sessions. Read more here.
Exploring Forest School
At The Roche School, we believe that the great outdoors is a valuable classroom. Forest School enables not only educational benefits but also encourages curiosity, self-expression, and collaboration in a safe, and nurturing environment. It’s a vital part of our EYFS curriculum, allowing children to explore and learn in a way that supports their development and well-being. Click here to read more.
